Infusion Services
Deaconess Home Services works with physicians to meet the varied needs of patients whose chronic and acute conditions require infusion services at home. Registered nurses trained in the special care needs of infusion patients make home visits to provide:
- Care and maintenance of I.V. access sites
- Administration of I.V. Medication
- Lab Work
- Patient education for self-care
We have RNs trained in PICC and Midline catheter insertion utilizing ultrasound for long term infusion therapy and peripheral line insertion. Our nurses are also trained to fill and adjust Medtronic implanted intrathecal pumps.
We have a board-certified oncology pharmacist on staff as well as an I.V. specialist RN with CRNI certification. The team works together closely to provide education and care to our I.V. patients.
All aspects of care are coordinated through a single source and customized to needs of each patient. Regular communication with physicians is a key element of our service approach.
