Inpatient Cancer Care

Inpatient cancer care at Deaconess Hospital and Deaconess Gateway Hospital provides a comfortable setting for patients undergoing treatment in an inpatient setting.  Our expert staff is committed to meeting the unique needs of cancer patients and their loved ones.

We work together with oncology nurses, pharmacists, radiation therapists, and other health professionals who specialize in cancer care. Many of our nursing staff are certified within the specialties of adult oncology, medical surgical care, hospice and palliative care, and neurology.

  • Oncology Nursing Certification (OCN)
  • Medical-Surgical Nursing Certification (MSNC) by the
  • Certification of Hospice and Palliative Nurses (CHPN)
  • Certified Neuroscience Registered Nurse (CNRN)

We make patient comfort and safety  a priority. Located on the fifth floor, the inpatient oncology unit at Deaconess Hospital features 23 private rooms.  At Deaconess Gateway Hospital, inpatient cancer care is located in tower A.   To make patient stays more comfortable and family friendly, each of the 32 private rooms are equipped with a flat screen TV and sofa.
