The inpatient program for acutely ill adults is designed to evaluate and treat adult patients with mental health and substance abuse detoxification issues. The focus on the acute adult inpatient unit is crisis stabilization and discharge to a lower level of care, such as an outpatient program or individual therapy. Our inpatient treatment provides a safe environment where patients may address their problems they are experiencing while in recovery.
Upon admission, a multi-disciplinary treatment team completes discipline-specific evaluations of underlying medical, psychological, social and family issues. A plan of care is developed that includes medication management and a combination of individual, group and family therapies along with therapeutic recreational activities and other programs to stabilize patients and create a foundation for care after discharge.
The multi-disciplinary team consist of a psychiatrist, an advanced practice nurse, registered nurse, social worker, activities therapist and mental health technicians and, when indicated, a chemical dependency counselor. Discharge planning begins upon admission and the discharge coordinator provides for appropriate follow-up care after discharge.
Our CARE (Call Assessment Referral Evaluation) team is available for confidential consultations 24 hours a day, seven days a week. Call 812/476-7200 or toll free at 800/947-6789 or e-mail with questions or referrals.
