Women's Hospital First to Use New Disinfecting Technology

High-quality medical care for women of all ages has been a hallmark of The Women’s Hospital from their first day. Recently, the hospital once again demonstrated this commitment by adopting cutting edge technology to clean rooms throughout the hospital.  The V-360+ UV Room Sanitizer from UltraViolet Devices, Inc. (UVDI) is now deployed at The Women’s Hospital to provide superior surface disinfection.
The V-360+ is a mobile ultraviolet germicidal irradiation (UVGI) device that is utilized by the environmental services staff at The Women’s Hospital to disinfect hospital rooms after cleaning. It generates high intensity UV energy and quickly disinfects surfaces contaminated with viruses, bacteria and fungi, including superbugs such as MRSA and C. difficile.
“Patient safety and infection prevention has always been a priority at The Women’s Hospital,” said Sonya Mauzey RN, BS, CIC, Infection Preventionist, The Women’s Hospital.  “We want our patients to have the best and safest care possible. Because of this, we are so excited to be able to add UV disinfection technology as an adjunct to our current cleaning and disinfection processes. The V-360+ sanitizer unit will be used throughout the hospital and in the operating rooms to provide the optimal safe environment for our patients.”
