Amanda Elikofer, BSN, RN, NE-BC was recently selected by the Society of Trauma
Nurses (STN) and the Eastern Association for the Surgery of Trauma (EAST) as recipient of the prestigious 2013 Foundation Nurse Fellow award. As the recipient of the 2013 Nurse Fellow award, Amanda will serve as the “STN-EAST Fellow” at the Annual Scientific Assembly, STN Networking Reception and the EAST Annual Business Meeting awards ceremony, all of which will be held in Scottsdale, Arizona, January 15 - 19, 2013.
In this capacity, Amanda will collaborate with a STN mentor to identify opportunities to interface with EAST, EAST Foundation and STN leaders and Scientific Assembly speakers. As the nurse “fellow/reporter,” she will have the privilege to summarize her key observations and prepare a daily posting for the STN-EAST Foundation Nurses Fellow blog.
The Society of Trauma Nurses membership is comprised of trauma nurses from 50 states, DC, Puerto Rico, and 14 countries. The STN is a professional non-profit organization whose mission is to ensure optimal trauma care to all people locally, regionally, nationally and globally through initiatives related to prevention, education and collaboration with other health care disciplines. This highly prestigious and esteemed award recognizes Amanda’s many accomplishments and ongoing endeavors, all of which share a focus on effective visionary leadership that fosters and ensures the highest level of safety and quality in the delivery of trauma nursing care.
