Deaconess is hosting a weekly community Farmers Market through mid-October, weather permitting, from 10:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m. On Tuesdays, Deaconess Gateway Hospital and The Women’s Hospital will host a Farmers Market and on Wednesdays Deaconess Hospital and Deaconess Clinic – Downtown will host one. The Farmers Market on the Deaconess Hospital campus is located off Edgar Street, behind the Deaconess Physicians Center building.

The Deaconess Farmers Market provides employees and Deaconess neighbors the opportunity to purchase a variety of healthy, seasonal produce without the hassle of having to go very far to shop. The Farmers Market at Deaconess is one of many initiatives of Deaconess’ Green Team, which is comprised of employees dedicated to reducing waste and consumption at Deaconess facilities.

Participating local farmers have met the standards of the Vanderburgh County Health Department and Vanderburgh Farm Bureau Association.
